Introduction to JK9830 Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer
JK9830 Kjeldahl Nitrogen Analyzer is a specialized laboratory instrument based on classical chemical analysis methods, mainly used to determine the total nitrogen content (Total Nitrogen) in various samples, and indirectly calculate protein content.

The Chemistry Behind
The core of Kjeldahl method is to convert organic nitrogen into inorganic ammonium salts, and then quantify them through distillation and titration.
This process is usually divided into three key stages:
Digestion: Under the action of a catalyst, concentrated sulfuric acid is used to convert organic nitrogen in the sample into stable ammonium salts (usually ammonium sulfate).
Distillation: Alkalizing the digested mixture to convert ammonium salts into ammonia gas (NH3), and removing the ammonia gas through steam distillation.
Titration: Absorb distilled ammonia into excess boric acid solution, then titrate with standard hydrochloric acid, and calculate nitrogen content based on the amount of acid consumed by titration.
