Our NG-P series PSA nitrogen generator produce high-purity N₂ (95%–99.999%) from compressed air using carbon molecular sieve (CMS) and alternating pressure cycles. Ideal for labs needing 99.99%+ purity (e.g.,GC, LC-MS), they outperform membrane units in purity and stability.
Core Principle of PSA nitrogen generator
1.Compressed Air Pretreatment:Air is compressed (7–8 bar), dried, and filtered to remove water, oil, and particles.
2.Dual-Tower PSA Cycle (A/B Towers)
Adsorption (High Pressure, ~7 bar)
Compressed air enters a tower filled with CMS. Smaller O₂, CO₂, and moisture are adsorbed; larger N₂ passes through as product gas.
Regeneration (Low Pressure, ~1 bar)
The other tower depressurizes, releasing adsorbed O₂ to atmosphere. Towers alternate every 60–120 seconds for continuous flow.

Core Functions in GC
Carrier Gas: Transports samples through the column; affects separation efficiency and retention time. N₂ is low-cost, safe, and ideal for routine analysis.
Make-up Gas: Supports detectors (FID/ECD/TCD) to improve sensitivity, reduce baseline noise, and extend column life.
Purity Requirement: ≥99.999% (5N); trace O₂/H₂O cause column bleed, ghost peaks, and signal drift.
Flow & Pressure: Stable flow (±1%) and pressure (±0.5%); typical outlet pressure 0.4 MPa.
Standard Operation Procedure
- Pre-Use Check
Place in ventilated, dry area; avoid direct sunlight/heat.
generator outlet → GC N₂ port.
Check leaks (soapy water); confirm air pressure 0.4 MPa. - Startup
Start N₂ generator; open exhaust drain valve for about 30-50 min to purge impurities.
switch to nitrogen outlet from drain valve
connect to GC. - Shutdown
Turn off GC first; cool detectors (e.g., FID <100℃).
Shut down N₂ generator;
Vent residual pressure; close valves.
